Pond Maintenance Volunteers April 2011 - watch this space for next Volunteers Morning for 2012

A working party of Chartridge village Volunteers - headed up by Chris Howell and his keen assistant driving the dumper truck - set to work to tidy the village pond.
All got "down and dirty" to remove overgrown weeds and were careful to protect the nesting  ducks and moorhens.
After this worthwhile project was successfully completed - they retired to the pub for well earned sustenance!

Chartridge Village Pond
This lovely old pond was hidden from view for many years. In 2007 with a grant from the parish council,  Chris Howell organised a villagers working party to clear the pond in 2008.
The intention was to reintroduce suitably indigenous plants to the pond fringes and to encourage wildflowers on the adjacent meadow grass.
This proved to be a huge success so we organised a gathering of residents and friends to come along to the Pond and celebrate. Since then there has been an annual afternoon Pond Party organised by the residents. New ideas are always welcome do contact us if you would like to help out.
